Bootlegs tend to be convention finds or from large online stores such as Amazon. I try to only get a bootleg if there is simply no official plush of a character to exist. Unfortunately though, many of them tend to use stolen designs from independent creators (such as Asriel being stolen from NazFX's amazing creations).
